I just wish they sold tallboys, shit can Heineken or the spic lagers at the store and carry that. I like it since it doesn't have the adjunct sweetness or the ice beer taste that other high abv beers have. Just wish it was cheaper than $7 for a 4 pack of pints, but if I am buying a 5 percent 6 pack of pints for $ or 6 it about evens out from alcohol by volume, but I just tend to buy a lose can or two when I go to the beer store with my schwarzbier.

One of most overrated beers I've had in a while. I've prob tried 100+ different kind of beers but I think I've settled on the fact that pretentious beers like those aren't for me. I'm more of a basic lager person.

Idk, I'm not Czech but a friend's sister lives in Prague and we used to visit 1-2x a year before the 'rona. It was one of the absolute cheapest beers there, preferably drunk from those brown plastic 1,5 or 3l bottles which go flat in minutes. The slogan doesn't even make sense because the c in Branic has one of those Czech inverse accent aigus so it's pronounced Branitsj so it doesn't even rhyme. But that is the level of humour after a couple of those things

Are you talking about this beer? (pic rel) I couldn't find a Branik beer that ends with a c. What's the point of those 3L bottles. Are they meant to be shared or just to get hammered af? I've been to Prague a couple of times and haven't seen any hobos drinking out of those giant plastic bottles. I remember how a 500ml of beer at a bar was 1€. Good times, hahaha.

Just looked up the Atlas beers. There's a 16% version, lol. I want to buy all of those for the memes and serve them to my friends :P (not telling them the ABV)

>>16515803

Ah maybe I confused it with another one then, it's been a long time. Idk what the point of those huge bottles is but it was fun to sit around a table with everyone drinking out of comically sized beer bottles

Sadly the 16% isn't available in the Netherlands even though it's brewed here (I contacted the brewer). Atlas Gold (which is ironically of a lower ABV than Silver is the highest I have been able to find in stores, it's 14%. One is a nice drink, two gets you tipsy, three gets you hammered. I like that kind of simplicity.

This is how I have always described malt liquor and very very low tier beers. You're the only other person I've ever see describe it as such. Imagining drinking it at room temp makes me want to peel my skin off.

I always drink Atlas cold, it's actually very drinkable when it's nice and chilled. It does get a much richer aroma when it's lukewarm but it's hard to finish 0,5l of it. Added benefit of the cold is that you have to drink it quickly or it warms up, so you're hammered more quickly.

Back in the day you could find Caracu on every supermarket and bar on Brazil. This Stout was not a super popular beer. It's to strong (in flavor not alcohol) a bitter to brazilian taste. But it was used as remedy, people drunk it to cure diarrhea, gases, lack of appetite, hangovers and alike. It was often mixed with raw eggs and was supposed to be aphrodisiac.
But brazilian beer market changed in the recent years with the introduction and popularization of pure malt lagers. The market is right know saturated with this pure malt variants of popular beers like Skol, Brahma and Devassa that despite the propagandas taste like water, served stone-ice cold like soft drinks.
So nobody wants to drink a strong national beer, that don't really taste that great but at least taste like beer. No bar I know sell Caracu anymore you only find it in some supermarkets.

This is my first time hearing about beer being used as a remedy. (except against a hangover, but any alcoholic drink will do the job)
Last time I was in Brazil was about ten years ago and I remember those ice cold beers that taste like nothing. When did this trend of pure malt beer start?
Are you located in Europe by any chance and know of a place where you can buy Brazilian beer?
