don't get Lindt over 85%, it's processed with alkali to make it less bitter. Other than that, dark chocolate is not a snack, it's a delicacy. You just let it melt in your mouth and savor it. It's a bit of an acquired taste but it's delicious once you learn to appreciate it

Everyone is different, but there is a percentage where dark chocolate will become disgusting for you.
For me 75% is fine, 80% is pushing it, 85% can be okay if it has a fair whack of added sugar, but never more than that.
99% is insane.

You don't eat 99% dark chocolate by itself. It's not candy, it's a candy ingredient. You use it as an ingredient in an actual confection. Like, chop it up and stir it into a pot of boiling sugar and turn it into fudge. It's like opening a bag of flour, eating it with a spoon and complaining that it isn't bread.

I bought from some fair trade company with 88% cocoa for ~2bucks 100g and it was bitter too. Surly the taste was different then my brain was used to but it was not bad
