There is no feel like the first fresh cuppa of that day.

the coffee grounds that congealed at the bottom add a certain piquancy that plays off the cinnamon in the sauce

What’s that? The sauce looks like it could taste nice and rich but it probably tastes bland and shitty.

Probably chef boyardee. It's what you would expect from a cheap canned food. It's not awful, but it's not good enough that you would feel the need to spoon a bunch of sauce + ravioli into your mouth.

I haven't eaten them in years, but from I remember the mini raviolis were better than the full sized ones.

I highly recommend the mini raviolis and canned beenz and deenz for musicians on their first tours. Peanut butter sandwiches and Mr. Noodles in coffee-shop cups get kind of tired after about day 5.

The original Boyardee recipe was changed in WW2 so it could be used as a cheap war ration. They never changed the recipe back. You’re still eating cheap WW2 rations.

That pic gave me a strange sense of nostalgia.

It instantly reminded me of cold, rainy days back when I worked in retail and would get something cheap and quick for lunch. I never had a bowl because we didn't use an actual break room. So I'd have to use a styrofoam cup from the gas station to heat up stuff like canned ravioli or soup.

That band was [insert-adjective-here] death metal - very Allegaeon-ish. Some people thought we were pretty good (and others just didn't think of us at all). While that's on hiatus, I've been doing jazz, fusion, and some session work for some R&B and rap groups.

That first tour was pretty dirty. We made enough to get to the next gig, get some basic rations, and not have to pay vehicle insurance out of pocket. Things got better, but not enough to leave our day-jobs.
