American recipes for homemade food

>buy pre-cooked kraft this
>add easy bake™ that
>mix with microwaveable cooking mix
>add half a gallon of corn syrup
>add a cancerous additive banned in 197 countries
>put in a microwave until everything dissolves into a uniform gelatinous mess

I have never actually seen a single american recipe that explicitly calls for corn syrup. Corn syrup might be in a lot of the ingredients that it calls for, but I don't think people are actually buying bottles of plain corn syrup at the store to cook with.

Lots of desserts do, off the top of my head rice crispy treats.

Also OP is correct and it pisses me off when I look for recipes "from scratch" and they include all sorts of premade bullshit.
