I was raised on southern food. If I meet a foreign girl who puts in effort to make some fried chicken with sides of green beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and/or collard greens I would marry her. My mom used to make that shit for me, all cooked with lard.

it is done as you see there, moose nose in a pot hide and all, boiled for a couple hours, then peeled, and cleaned, then boiled for longer with spices and whatnot added.

Yeah, that's right. I posted the image originally. The recipes for jellied moose snout usually have you boil it for a while then skin it. Then you add some spices and such and cook it more, remove the bone and leftovers and pour it into a container and you get what's in the pic.
It may have originated with natives I'm not sure but others make it in Canada and Alaska as well. I've had it before. It's not bad, it doesn't have a moose flavour either, which is too bad because I love moose.

I kind of grew up the opposite, so to speak, in that I never feel like anything I make is good enough. So I don't have to worry about being too big headed, but too much negativity is annoying too so I do have to work on that

That's why I like cooking now, I got into it initially because I had to during uni, but I learned it isn't a horrible and arduous task like my mum always said, in fact it was fun! And doing shit like baking is so easy but everyone loves cookies and cake, so I usually bake a bunch of stuff for the office every other week, which helps with talking to people

Yeah that's been a problem with a couple of girlfriends. They were pretty self obsessed and it didn't last long when I realized I should stand up for myself. My boss at work does a similar thing, where she asks me to make powerpoints look good and do certain reports, and used to claim she was doing everything. I started putting my name in the references section giving me credit and it took a couple months for the higher ups to notice but they said it was genius, since she'd been bragging for ages about how she'd been doing everything alone, and she got reassigned to a worse job. I instead got given a much easier job, which was to say making powerpoint presentations look nice for the government, which pays more and is a piece of piss so I'm happy
