South Jersey fag here and have to say, at least when it comes to the one in Mount Laurel, the produce is always god awful and I've seen mold on the fresh fish multiple times. My bro got really sick after eating their sushi, too. I stick to Costco.

who buys sushi at a grocery store? the wegs in ocean township is great.

costco is great for everything they sell, but they don't sell a ton of food i want to buy, and their meat prices typically suck. restaurant depot is the best for meat.

>go to publix
>line for subs is insane
>every single one is some schlubby family ordering 3 subs
>"we'll be with you all shortly!"
>right next to the deli so the lines intersect with old people buying "a quarter pound of salami, a tenth of a pound of swiss, 3/34ths of a pound of tavern ham..."

The popularity of publix subs RUINED the publix sub. Every dumbass idiot flocks there for the subs now and getting one feels like trying to get a reservation at dorsia. Even worse when the chicken tendie subs are one sale and every out of state FAGGOT or local yokel gets one and they run out of chicken in an hour.
Better to just go to the bakery, buy some bread and then hit up the deli yourself. Save money and you don't have to deal with the stoner making the subs going "huh? what? did you say onions? uhhhhh" making your sub at the speed of slow because he goes on break in 5 minutes and wants to drag his feet

I was born in Florida. There should be a chip implanted in out of state people that stops their heart from beating if they set foot in a publix.
This is my grocery store not yours. You don't belong in my state.

>> No.16325569

>>16324424
a little context, publix purposely hires disabled people, be it mentally or physically, to be the bag boys. you'd think it would be off-putting or awkward but it's actually a nice little sprinkling of humanity before you leave the store. they feel good that they're contributing to society and that feels good.
oh and I don't know what it's like, sorry.

>> No.16325760

the thing about florida is that there are hidden gems all along the coast, small communities that tourists wouldn't know about but have all kinds of cool stuff. my hometown is one, it has a freshwater spring that flows a couple miles into the gulf forming a crystal clear river with a bunch of nice homes along its length, along with some cool restaurants/bars, piers and boat ramps, a mini beach, manatees. and the waters on that part of the coast are miles and miles of about 10 ft depth, so there's endless places to snorkel for scallops, spearfish, etc. there's even a waterpark at the spring itself which has changed very little for decades. florida can be very charming you just have to find the right spots.

well it does have a pretty bad reputation at least in recent times. but it's different than pretty much any other state, in a good way imo. it's sort of like texas in that regard.

>publix has a downs syndrome kid at the checkout or maybe he has some other thing wrong with him, he is a retard for sure
>he sometimes writes customers names and what they buy so he can comment on it and be a good worker
>for example if you buy cabbage he will write it down and say next time 'how was your cabbage'
>one time bought condoms and 8 frozen pizzas from the store when he was the guy serving me
>was just because I was topping up frozen pizzas, the condoms were for my brother and his girlfriend to fuck
>told him as a joke that I use the condoms to wrap the frozen pizza so they fit better in the freezer
>now every time I go he asks 'were the condoms big enough for the pizza'
>says it loud as fuck

No, I think I’ll continue shopping at Aldi’s. They’re so shitty whenever I go to a real grocery store it feels like a gourmet grocer. Literally like 65% of the produce on the shelves is rotten at my Aldi’s but i don’t care all the employees are hot and the shit is cheap.

i moved to boca raton last yeah and i hate it. it's soulless and sterile and ive found nothing to do except go to the same overcrowded beach. i hate living here and want to go back north

is there any salvation to this place?

>> No.16326828

find a better beach, find a good spot to fish, find some waterfront bars that aren't tourist traps. I've never been to boca but these are just the things I miss about florida. water related activities are your best bet so if you're not too excited about that sort of thing you probably should move. but give it a real chance by finding better spots that aren't crowded because nothing brings down a beach like a crowd (unless you know them of course).

You should get into scuba diving or something involving the water. I had a good time in the poker rooms at the casinos. Your gun laws are some of the best in the nation - maybe get involved in some type of shooting or gun ownership, etc.

I hang out in bars in the tourist areas and just chit chat - found it easy to meet people.
