why do so many people hate grocery shopping?

sourcing ingredients is legitimately half the fun of cooking for me. finding deals on normally expensive foods and buying whatevers on sale and coming up with a dish using it is so much fun

i will never understand the appeal of blue apron and similar meal kits, takes most of the fun out of cooking imo

>basically nowhere to get western foods in any decent availability
>no cuts of beef other than short rib and half rotted stewing chunks

>no SEA ingredients unless it's a beijing standard
>maybe a 1 in 10 chance of finding any basil at all, let alone thai basil whereas it used to be super common
>basically just constantly at a loss and having to substitute meat cuts and ingredients constantly

that doesn't bother me really, i just yell "excuse me" in an unusually loud voice and that startles most people into moving over. i mostly shop in mexican farmers markets so i dont run into niggers in general but if there happens to be one that doesn't want to move i just go shop in a different section and come back in a few minutes when they moved on. no biggie

that's fucked up, i've never had a positive experience with a mainlander. i moved closer to the city from the suburbs to be closer to work. there were so many korean supermarkets just a short drive away, but in the middle of the city there only seem to be extremely overpriced "farmers markets" like whole foods and sprouts, and i have to drive 30-40 minutes out to find reasonable prices on anything. doesn't bother me too much but i only go shopping once a week or so

I legitimately love it.
In fact when I travel to other regions in the US or other countries checking out local grocery stores is one of my favorite things. When I got my first job out of college, I chose where I lived based on one of the local grocery stores.

Sometimes you want to murder other shoppers for the reasons >>16320358 gives, but in the end it's just part of the experience.

Who? Where?
I worked in a grocery store for many years so I just get it done in the quickest and most efficient way possible. Shopping list, look over it and make a mental map of where I need to go first and I'm usually done in under half hour. I got better shit to do than dilly dally at a grocery store.
