Do you have a restaurant or coffee shop you use as a hang out place where you always meet up with your friends at?

Yeah there used to be this diner across from my apartment where some friends of my would hang out. Mediterranean/American place ran by some greeks. Best gyros and burgers in the city. They recently moved locations across town tho :(.

Sometimes wonder what having friends is like. Do most people really have friends? Where do you even get them? I think it's just a myth spread by popular media, because it's easier to write a story that has more people.

You can friends easily whereever there's a group/joint effort - that's how humans naturally bond, our bee/hive function brain switches on if group action is required to achieve a goal.

So maybe you should look for a club or hobby where interaction is required - could also look for Internet communities, but you'll need to be careful with those. There's lots of people who can exploit you or have a negative impact through osmosis of bad habits, attitudes and mindsets.

Personally, I've made some very good friends from 4chan, but I'd consider them the exception to the rule.

I used to go to this place all the time after work and get wings and beer, shoot pool and eventually get drunk. It had been a Blockbuster beforehand.

When I was in university we had a couple of bars like that where on certain days you wouldn't even have to call anyone to know that the gang was always there. Absolutely comfy, I wish I still had actual friends instead of just foreign coworkers.
