I just think Famous Daves is a bit better. I really can't find any good mustard sauces on the market.

When I was a kid (53 year old here) Open Pit was pretty much the only BBQ sauce out there and by the time I graduated high school, (class of 1986) there were a few more and KC Masterpiece was quite popular. Nowadays, there are a bazillion brands of BBQ sauce but Sweet Baby Ray’s dominates the market (it’s what I use).

Sweet baby rays is for Yankees that want to “bbq” the general sentiment of it being sugar thickened Worcester isn’t wrong. Not gonna knock it, but there are better choices if you want a thick Tennessee sauce. Vinegar based sauce is best on everything that isn’t ribs.

Unironically, just take a bottle of the spicy, simmer it with two cups of chicken broth and half a red onion, diced, and half a red pepper, diced, with just a shot of yellow mustard at the end and maybe a splash of apple cider vinegar.

True story, prepared it in a public park with a shitty grill, it was preferred by maybe 8/
10 except for the haters, who liked Sweet baby Ray’s original, basically just heated. You can never be free of NPCs.

Don't think I've ever had a problem with it overriding any of the other flavors. Usually I use it as a glaze towards the end -- a light coating tends to be all it needs.
