Why is it so hard for me to sit down at a restaurant and eat by myself? Why do I rely on other people to eat what I want outside of my home?

Because you instinctually know it makes you creepy

Because you lack confidence.

People find it less weird if you do it during lunch.
I eat by myself all the time. I have people who would go with me, I just don't feel like going to the trouble.
If you spend your entire life worrying about what strangers you'll never see again think you'll miss out on doing what you want.

I think instinct makes me feel like I'm some creep who has nobody who loves them enough to eat breakfast with.

I try to convince myself of this all the time. Why should I care what people think? However, that innate desire to be part of the group keeps drawing me away.

Also, wouldn't the restaurant rather serve a group of customers with potentially more revenue than some creep with a small order? Is it crazy to think like this?

Do you want a diagnosis bro?
Talk to a therapist if you really can't get over that weird feeling, odds are that restaurants aren't the only place in your life that anxiety pops up.

Nobody actually cares. Just tip well if you're still worried about the waitstaff thinking less of you.

Thank you. I honestly have realized I'm not that special, and people have their things going on and couldn't care about whether someone is eating sushi all alone.

It's not about being special or not. I'm sure you've got plenty going for you.
People are just very self absorbed until you give them a reason to care.

Bring a notepad and everyone will think you're some famous food critic.

I’ve actually thought about bringing a book to read or a notebook to draw the food I’m eating.

In my country its illegal for restaurants to serve food to a single guest. There must be a minimum of two guests per table. For safety reasons.

What are these reasons exactly? Can your country no be trusted keep themselves from drowning in a soup bowl?

Its because you cant do the heimlich thing on yourself if you choke on food. Restaurant employees are not allowed to do the heimlich.

why is japanese cuisine so hilariously bad?
the main staple dish of nipponland is sushi which is literally just fish on rice
their curry is just watered soup
ramen is just inferior version of authentic Chinese noodles
even instant noodles is taiwanese (Chinese) and not from japan

why could the nips not make a satisfactory cuisine?
