i mean thats kind of a dumb assumption. fresh saltwater fish are leagues better than anything freshwater but there's nothing wrong with trout etc. i surf fish a few times a month and consistently catch pompano and jack, and they're better than any store bought fish i've ever had. people say jack is trash fish but thats fucking stupid and comes from people that either only fish for mahi or tuna or don't fish at all.

usually i'll cook them blackened or just bread them and fry them and have it over rice with nuoc cham.

there is such a thing as a saltwater catfish and ive caught them a few times. the only thing with them is the barbs on their fins are fucking poison and you have to be careful with them. they taste the same as regular catfish but somehow "cleaner" and not as earthy or muddy. they also look like a fucking pokemon or some shit.
