324 yen for 1 slice each of ham lunchmeat and American cheese

for 43 yen ($0.39) more you get a big hunk of chicken

what kind of RETARD picks ham and cheese in this scenario?

I just made a thread about making sando bread! It's called a sando because the Japanese originally covered them with chilled sand in order to keep them cool before they had refrigerators.

The Japanese improved upon the simple sandwich.
Same as America improved upon the simple cheese-cracker with a leaf the Italians called “pizza”.
Get over it, bruh.

I've made these before thinking they wouldn't be that good. I was really surprised. A strawberry sandwich with whip cream on white bread was more like a strawberry short cake than a sandwich. Really good with tea. Next time I'm gonna use brioche.

They're not that expensive. Overpriced sure, but they've got the market locked on that shoku-pan. Sandwich House Tres in Bellevue is pretty goddamn good.

I live in Japan, and have conbini sando two or three times a week. Egg salad is king. I also dig the double decker hardboiled egg and teriyaki chicken one at Lawson.

I've found this is more true at grocery stores and bakeries. My local Lawson doesn't do this, but I usually get "spread" type sammiches (egg salad, tuna salad, etc.), but even the ham/egg/cheese have decent coverage where only the very corner area bit of like 1cm is not filled.
