First year in university there were this pair of german students in my dorm
Start of the year they bought one 30kg sack of penne pasta
They would straight up eat plain pasta with ketchup multiple times a week

>> No.16236861

Some poor mother fuckers, using ketchup like that.

People make fun of british food, but the fact is that your average german consumes far more horrifyingly childish shit on a daily basis and typically can't cook worth a damn. I dated frankfurt chick whose diet was practically nothing but Dr. Oetker freezer pizzas unless I cooked for her.

Fuck that. I’d rather just eat the pasta with olive oil if I didn’t have any sauce.

I do this more often than I care to admit. But I always keep some cans of diced or crushed tomatoes in the pantry for these occasions. Ensuring the spaghetti is al dente, I then add two tablespoons of the tomatoes, and douse the pasta in copious amounts of a good quality olive oil. Heaven on a plate. So simple, yet so satisfying.

I add half the recommended amount of water to soup instants, and let it all absorb completely into the noodles. Then, I add some olive oil. The flavor is so much more pronounced. And I'm just not a fan of soup to start with.

I don't actually know, I reckon that they live like robots for the entire year and then when they have a two week holiday in Italy or Spain they eat according to their idea of abundance and taste

>> No.16237077

Rice and beans is a complete protein. You can eat just that forever and not die. Not so with tomato syrup-slathered macaroni.

arbeit macht frei. Germans are actually proud of their "live to work" robotic lifestyle. But that's probably also why they're so wealthy.
