The more I cook the more I realize how fucking retarded turning something as subjective as cooking into a pseudo sport. Not to mention how retarded it is to make amazing dishes in limited time frames. The Best dishes all require time and planning to create. In an episode of masterchef Canada they asked contestants to make a pizza in 2 hours, and it's safe to say that no pizza made from scratch in that time frame is delicious. Then the other disadvantage is the lack of curing, bringing or marinading of meat. Meat needs at least 12 hours for salt to penetrate throughout the cut of meat, this allowing the meat to hold moisture and not have a dogshit stringy texture. Steaks and birds need time to dry out a bit in the fridge. Stews need at least an hour in a pressure cooker to be delicious (I'm not an instant pot faggot). Doughs need time to ferment and proof. Flavours need time to macerate. Any good restaurant doesn't do all the prep work at the same time service occurs. It's just dogshit TV for people that don't really cook.

I just started watching this series and dying laughing at how they made a big deal on letting a 3 fingered chef on only to eliminate him in the first test which was chopping like 50 onions.

Also do the elimination challenges improve in later seasons? Some are dumb like guess the most of these weird ass ingredients or get eliminated.
