People needing to specifically go out of their way to trash In-N-Out Burger, or feel like they are high and mighty for not liking it is incredibly funny and extremely pathetic.

I'm from California and enjoy In-N-Out Burger for what it is: a pretty cheap fast food burger that uses decent quality ingredients. The buns are nice and spongy, the meat is decent, the french fries are made with fresh potatoes cut right in front of you. Real ice cream in the shakes if you get those. It isn't the world's greatest burger but it's good for what you're getting, easily near the top of fast food burger chains in terms of taste, quality and freshness. There's a reason why it's pretty common to be the only fast food restaurant actual chefs will go to.

Cue the usual In-N-Out haters who will start spewing about how far superior the $15 fast causal five guys meal proves that in n out burger sucks

That’s not what it is. It’s your patty cooked with mustard for a more flavorful char, plenty of pickles on the bottom, (in practice in the South Bay) light lettuce (when not animal style they put quite a bit in), flat-top charred onions instead of the big raw onion disc, and maybe 25% more bugah sauce (it’s nowhere near sloppa). It’s basically a better big mac imo. Nice with about a packet of ketchup dabbed here or there on a whim.

Most people that love In n Out love it because we grew up with it combined with the fact that at it's price it's way better than normal fast food joints combined with the fact that the quality is extremely consistent at every single location by design. They have real standards and every single employee speaks clear english and gets paid enough to give a fuck about their job (I guess you can shit on this point if you're from NE) and they NEVER fuck up your order. The lines suck but it's usually no more than 20 minutes and you know with 100% certainty you're getting a good meal for $6

Also they tend to give the bun a little extra crisp to stand up to the jizz on top and pickles of the bottom. Always eat it with a small unsweetened iced tea with extra ice. I always get it wrapped for the car, even if going home, not the bag, as the humidity capture of the bag sogs shit while the open box/half wrap of the “in the car” is far superior. Also the fries are gay unless you’ve been drinking, in which case cheese fries, well done, add chilis.

To me they just don’t overlap.When you want In-n-out, you’re going for a specific thing: either a classic burgah with bracing, fresh lettuce and tomato and a raw onion disc, or a slutty animal style burgah with different knobs turned on the whole production.

With McD’s you want that classic cheeseburger with absolutely nothing fresh in any way, maybe that iceberg lettuce/mayo McChicken, maybe a classic QPC with a BBQ sauce packet to dip it in. And a Coke.

White Castle has the worst fries I've ever had. They're bad enough that I would rather just eat nothing. Soggy as fuck even when they're fresh, god awful texture as a result, and they taste like nothing.
At least at In-N-Out, you can get the admittedly shitty fries animal style which makes them decent.
