If anyone would like me to open one of these cans in particular up, absolutely no problem, friend. Just let me know.

Are there any good canned fish that are higher protein and lower sodium than King Oscar's Mediterranean Mackeral?
I was surprised at how little sodium the mackeral had, I wonder if there are any others just for the variety.

How much do you usually buy a can for?

>> No.16211996

Oooh very very good question.

Here's a comparison of some deenz vs. K.O. Mackerel Mediterranean style (godly).

KO Mackerel Mediterranean style:
80g of food
300mg of Sodium
15g of Protein

Mouettes D'arvor a l'huile d'olive vierge extra:
58g of food
280mg of Sodium
13g of Protein

Ramon Pena w/ Padron Peppers
55g of food
260mg of Sodium
12g of Protein

Espinaler Baby Sardines
55g of food
237mg of Sodium
13g of Protein
Long story short: I, at this time, do not know of any canned fish with higher protein and lower sodium than KO Mackerel Mediterrean style but holy hell am I now specifically curious about this. I will be keeping a very strong eye on this, especially when at the grocery store shopping for deenz & other canned fish.

Sorry I couldn't help you out any further, my friend.

>>16211870
Deenz prices vary.

It depends on which brand. My go to brand for sardines, generally, is King Oscar which varies by grocery store, but is usually about ~$3 for a can of sardines with flavor or original.

Ramon Pena sardines are about a whopping $12 bucks for each can, which is why I only buy 1 or 2 at a time and enjoy the living hell out of it. Matiz brand sardines are usually ~$5 a can. Ortiz cans are around ~7 - 8$ bucksish per can.

Essentially, the price of a can of sardines varies depending on the quality of the deenz themselves, as well as the flavor added to it (lemon, tomato, mustard, 'sauce', etc.) You want really damn good deenz you can eat off of your expensive yacht in a Connecticut harbor? You'll pay for ~ $13 a can. You are poor and want some protein in the form of some deenz? They can go as low as ~$1 a can. King Oscar cans are about ~$3 a can (it depends on which grocery store I go to and whether or not there is a sale. Some will have the cans, typically, at $3.49, others will have them as low as ~$2.99 if I'm willing to drive out).

High in protein + very high in omega-3's, this being important because two fatty acids essential to healthy brain functioning are omega-3 + omega-6's. Omega-6's are abundant already in most of our (western) diets but it's important to have a good ratio of omega-3 to omega-6. Omega-3's are far more rare. That's one of the reasons why eating foods like deenz are great: balancing the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio for superior brain functioning.

Also, cheap + fun to mix with an entire varied assortment of condiments like mayo, tobasco, chipotle, hot sauce, peppers, mustard, crackers of all kinds. And this --> >>16216414
