The last 3 times I went to a decent restaurant they wouldn't let me have one of the jugs of water so I could poor it myself, the fucking tools made me bring them over every time to top it up. Still, a server should never actually expect tips, and they sure as shit shouldn't be getting so mad about people never tipping that they try to go online and bully/sob-storytelling others into tipping their servers. Literally only in America do people expect a tip. I've been to europe specifically France, amsterdam, Belgium and they don't expect you to pay them a tip, they pride themselves on their service to hopefully have you return. Even at the bars I went to they don't want my tip, I had a bartender get upset and force me to take back my 2euro tip for a 2 euro beer and said this isn't america you don't need to tip us. I've saved more money during the pandemic not tipping and just picking up take out. I never expected to get tipped even when I worked at some catering place. The only places I've ever gotten tipped at were at menial jobs like bagging groceries or working at the local ice rink. I have even refused to take people's tips if I felt like they were giving it to me out of pity or something like that. Take some pride in yourself and get a better job if you feel like you deserve more money.
