What adult eats shit that says it is for "grown-ups"? This is some shit that you would expect from a menu at a kid's restaurant. Who the fuck was this marketing actually for? Parents who only go to McDonalds to get a kids meal for their children?

you know you can still get that, just order a quarter pounder with cheese deluxe.

>> No.16163294

If they would remove the bottom half of the bun and make the top half a quarter percent thick, it would save alot of waste. I throw out all that bread. 80%+ Meat diet for health reasons.

no I had one just the other day. it's on the menu, the only difference from the arch deluxe is the type of bun.

You just said the most obvious thing. The bun. You were wrong right there not even going into the ingredients you cant see inside even.

The vegetables suck ass on that. It's dumb shredded lettuce, and pale watery slices of tomato a micron thick. The red onion is just fine, and definitely doesn't make up for how shitty this is otherwise.

Essentially. McDlt came first and failed. They tried again with this and it failed. Then Big N Tasty was the scaled back version of this. Failed. All that effort just to copy the whopper.

That and it was a huge grab for market share as well. I remember when the arch deluxe came out it seemed like McD was really just a place for kids and they were starting to try and distance their image from that of a playland with strange cartoon character mascots that happened to sell happy meals as well.

As someone born in 89 I'm assuming there was a time prior where McDonald's was legit scared of burger King taking their place. If only they knew bk would end up sabotaging themselves.

I seemed to have lived through a literal fever dream years ago because I remember a lot of the internet clamoring to get the deluxe back on the menu.

Then things got... Weird...

There was pushback against this but not like the kind you would expect. Did anybody else see those op eds?!

They were in their 40s at the time and as the other anon said, they were afraid adults would start to associate McDonalds with being a young person's game and move on to something more "mature" that appealed to their ego and sensibilities. They felt that the Arch Deluxe would reassure their largest client base that there WAS something there for them as well as their children.

It's a McDonald's thread. McDonald's pays good money to have fifteen threads up at a time.
