In my area we have Zantigo, which is a restaurant chain started way back in the day, that was eventually absorbed by Taco Bell. One of the original founders also started Chi-Chis and Ortega brands too.

Anyways, this place still has some of the ancient Taco Bell recipes on their menu.

When I first tried Taco Bell in the 90s, they had this awesome bacon cheeseburger burrito which was my favorite menu item. Had this fantastic sauce on it with little crispy bits of bacon mixed in. I didn't go back there for awhile and when I did the bacon cheeseburger burrito was gone and hasn't reappeared since. Sad.

No actual pictures of the grande soft taco exist on the internet. Only models that taco bell historians think the taco looked like. It was actually a burrito though.

You can still get a quesorito but you have to order it different. If you look at Taco Bell's website a Quesorito has seasoned beef, nacho cheese, seasoned rice, chipotle sauce, sour cream and grilled. You get the same thing with a beef burrito of the value menu but sub the jalapeno cream sauce with chipotle sauce add sour cream and order it grilled and you have a quesorito for less. Chicken would just sub the beef with chicken.

sante fe chalupa but really just good chalupas. they used to always have enough meat, they had more options than just the supreme, and most of all the goddamn chalupa shell wasn't a tasteless, rubbery, cold piece of shit with zero texture. it used to be warm and crunchy, it was so good, now they're always disappointing. but is that just the location I go to, are the piece of shit workers just too lazy to toast it? last order I ever got from them the soda was warm and without any ice. can't imagine the state of whoever has the gaul to call themselves a manager there.

Not quite old but it sure is gone and I sure do miss it. When I was a wee lad I told my brother how I don't like taco bell and he told me I just haven't tried the right thing yet. So him and my cousins took me to a taco bell that same day and got me a Mexican pizza. Been my favorite ever since, the only thing I got from there.
