Toast has to be hot enough to melt the butter, if you put the butter on and it's not melting you fucked up. About 1 tablespoon of butter to vegemite ratio per slice of bread.

Tastes like gay. Just put Vegemite on it without butter. Butter obsession isn't nearly as widespread hee

Hi OP, you've been lied to. Vegemite is shit and tastes of chemicals.
The REAL good stuff is by Sanitarium, and it's Marmite. (Different from the English shit) You gotta spread marge/butter on some good hot pieces of toast, and get that shit melted stat.
Then put a moderate amount of marmite on your knife, and spread it across the warm butter liberally.
If you did it right, it will have merged together with the butter, and become extremely delicious.
In terms of taste, it's very salty, and tastes a little bit of stock. It's a heavy flavor, and is really lightened by whatever fat you decide to use.

I'm a yank and own a jar.

Kind of dumbfounded that it never caught on here. Really nice stuff.

(There's actually kind of an insane story about how it never caught on here but I am too tired to research it to see if it's bullshit or not.)

Welp, I just checked Snopes and part of it IS true.

While you can bring jars over to the states for personal use Kraft is not allowed to like import it over and sell it inside stores in large quantities. They can like sell it in smaller quantities. Just not pallets of the shit.

Get ready to laugh.

There is a bread lobby here. We have lobbies for everything. A long time ago the bread lobby monopolized the nutrient foliate and lobbied it into a legal mandate. The idea was that if you wanted foliate you were just gonna have to buy their bread and cereal to get it. And they pulled it off. Because America. XD

I used to hate it then an old coworker gave it to me on a salada cracker with butter and the rest was history. I ate it as a snack religiously like every day after that the key is to use just a smidge of it and make sure it mixes with the butter.

Yes mate, love it.

Most common for me is spreading it on heavily buttered toast - relatively thin with the Vegemite - with a cup of tea or coffee. Also sandwiches, a great lunch addition or snack on a bushwalk - again, heavily buttered, but thicker with the Vegemite than on toast..

I used to have Vegemite on toast for breakfast as a kid with my grandma, with a cup of tea to wash it down. Good nostalgia.

Pic related is similar to how I'd have it on toast, but I would have more butter and definitely buttering right out to the edges of the toast.

You're still in baby mode. More Vegemite, less butter. If you absolutely insist on balancing out the twang, use tasty cheese.
