I haven't cleaned my home in 3 years and have eaten only frozen foods able to be cooked in an oven since then. Now I've finally managed to clear the trash off one of my stovetop heaters and would like to cook something. What recipes can you recommend for a broken man that forgot how to cook?

why would someone clean off a stove and have no idea what they wanted to cook beforehand.

Congrats on cleaning up your living space. I'd start with a dish that you enjoy and are really familiar with and try to replicate it as well as possible. Skills you pick up from making it will allow you to branch out to other dishes.

I also enjoy making my own ingredients, rather than full-on dishes. Yogurt, jam, ghee, chili oil, toum - stuff you can keep and use regularly without having to buy from the store. All the stuff I just mentioned is dead simple to make at home.

Mostly because the tower of empty boxes that were stacked on top came crashing down.

Good idea, I should try starting with scrambled egg. Maybe some pasta napoli.

>forgot how to cook
impossible. cooking is the act of pleasing oneself needs and/or wants while also practicing the means of safety. you're literally keeping yourself alive by knowing how to cook. no one who once could cook can ever possibly forget how - unless you're measuring your memory and hand-eye coordination/mechanical abilities from what was once a younger self to what is now the older self by means of physical limitations.
