If I know my pasta will cost $25 dollars, and I agree to that price, if they then present me a dish of pasta as described in the menu, and charge me $25, well It's like a verbal contract. Both sides agree that 1 dish of pasta will be provided, the price will be $25. Nothing wrong with this.

If they tell me I will get a dish of pasta, it will cost $25 and they present me with a slice of toast, or inedible pasta, or charge me $50 instead, well that's not OK.

A hot dog, sold for $250 is perfectly fine, if both parties to the transaction agree to the terms of the deal.
