Every time I try to make ice cream I fuck it up. How do I actually do it right? :(

i've done the ice cream maker method with cream only and it is infallible. it is a bit runny though and not firm enough. but if you store it too long it becomes too firm.
I've also done the cream + can of condensed milk method with a hand mixer. Beat it till peaks form and then put in the freezer in a tray. Rebeat it again every hour. it ends up tasting more like a mcflurry even though the fat content is a lot higher vs the mcdonalds soft serve ice cream.

It's a big nostalgia thing for me. Grandparents would always make delicious home made peach ice cream in an ice cream maker on the porch at big family gatherings before everybody moved or died. Don't think it's worth the trouble without the contextual setting to enjoy home made ice cream.

if you want certain flavors you have to do homemade. I remember my mom making my stepdad licorice flavored ice cream in ours. That was all she ever made and us kids never got to even try it. I wouldn't want to but at least make us a flavor too.

I just got one this year and haven't tried it out yet cause my disabled dad who lives with us bought 3 big containers of ice cream and hasn't eaten any of it yet and it's taking up room. Think I'm gonna go with lime for the flavor when I finally do, then maybe some banana or peach
