I drank sake once with my friends and it was pretty good, i rembember that a couple hours ago and since i saw a thread about making your own alcohol, i thought about making sake.

The company in that video is not the norm. They're doing it the hard way on purpose. Bigger brewers are going to be fully automated like brewers anywhere else. They're not making the $10 bottle you find on the bottom shelf, but rather the several hundred dollar bottle you find locked in a cabinet requiring a manager's key.

Kind of, though the process in the video is a refined version of the events that lead to sake. I'd imagine the origin of sake is similar to any other early alcohol: stuff got left out too long and fermented naturally. They're just making the process faster and more deliberate while also boosting certain events to produce better flavor/product.

Anyway you got a really good pony, that sake must taste amazingly good, if the one i drank was good enough i cant imagine that one. Im not alcoholic so i wouldn't do all of the process it by myself tho (saw another videos and isn't that easy)
