In my opinion, food from that region is the comfiest food. But I would include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein there.

I actually prefer the flavor profile and vibe of the hearty Central European, Eastern European, and Northern European cuisines. They also have far far superior desserts, cakes, pies, bread, baked goods, and dairy.

There are of course many great qualities of Southern European food, but overall I prefer beer and stew above wine and pasta.

Big difference. Germany had the French border which influenced the cuisine a lot, so the border areas towards France naturally has the best German/central European cuisine. Very different and much much better than farther east in Europe.
