as an american, i'm proud to say that my settler ancestors brought hot dogs over from the old country. in my family, we eat hot dogs at every family gathering, often even for easter and christmas. it's an old recipe that has been passed down for generations and i'm willing to share it with you now:
>1 hot dog bun
>1 hot dog
>mustard
>gherkin
>maple syrup
enjoy

While Canada might be the majority producer of the world's maple syrup, a large portion is harvested in the US, particularly in Vermont. If you've been avoiding maple syrup because of some preconception that it's a Canadian thing, you've been missing out.
