Not OP but authentic vintage cookbooks are kind of fun. I particularly like the ones that come from churches collectively and are attributed to women like “Mrs. Edward Smith”. Ive never had a real failure from them and they often have recipes and ingredient combinations that aren’t hipster or highbrow enough to see often it current food media, especially with desserts or party food.

>> No.15962333

>>15962305
Ingredients available to you have changed considerably though. For example modern chicken is completely different than that available a hundred years ago. Milk is different too as it's now processed. How would one even go about accounting for a recipe that calls for fresh eggs without owning a hen?
And there's plenty of non-obvious examples too such as gluten content in wheat and the average temperature of a kitchen.
How do you manage to translate a vintage recipe into a one that's actually useable today?

IDK maybe the fact that the title of the recipe is a character from Fallout 3 and you can see vault boy and (also) I am an avid cookbook collector and have cooked from this book and consider anyone who paid for it a massive faggot because holy shit the pdf is right there on #bookz
The only bethesda cookbook worth its salt is the Elder Scrolls one because at least it tries to be novel or unique in some way and, failing that, has pretty good rustic fare. The Fallout cookbook is shit I could find on allrecipes in 10 seconds flat. The only unique recipe is the nuka cola syrup which is a mediocre spiced soda syrup that tastes like a shitty cola. You may as well save yourself the trouble and make lavender or rum syrup to make some actually unconventional soda flavors.

In my experience, you want them warm to the touch so the icing can run a bit, but not hot enough that the icing falls apart into a sugar soup.

So lightly touch them, if they're HOT, don't ice yet, if they're cooling down to warm, you're good to go.

Thank you. I'd recommend it.
It's damn simple and better than frying them like I usually do.
Just bake it at 400F for 45 minutes, slice open, top with a mixture of crushed habanero, garlic, avocado, cinnamon, cayenne, and chopped peanuts. Then a handful of peanut halves. I thought the peanuts would be weird but the texture offset is kind of addicting.

Maybe OP isn't so poor that he needs to pirate everything, and maybe he likes having a physical copy of things? I have a record collection, am I retarded for buying music and supporting the artists and not just downloading everything? I have a small library, as well, and make regular trips to my local bookstore; am I retarded for giving lesser known authors some money, and also supporting a small business? Fuck off, poorfag. I bet you bought your computer, like a retard, instead of stealing it for free (this is your logic)
