there used to be this awesome breakfast place in vancouver called The Elbow Room, where all the servers, and the owner, were just absolute cunts to the customers, but they backed it up with legitimately great food and it was mostly lighthearted abuse, shut down after the owners partner died

Chicagolander here. I've actually been to this shithole before. The truth of the matter is that it's just a shitty hot dog place in an area full of amazing hot dog places. The interior of this shit hole is tiny, and everything, from the ceiling to the floor, has a thin coat of grease. Although I went in the day time (so no sassy niggress), the worker still had a dog shit attitude.

All these facts lend me to the belief that the restaurant is only in business because of the "we have our sassy black workers insult you when you come at night" gimick; because it sure as fuck isn't the garbage food they serve.

I am from Europe and when i visited Chicago i got lost and by mistake entered a ghetto and bought a bottle of Gatorade in one those typical ghetto shops (dont know how they are called). And yes, they looked at me weird. Probably would have gotten robbed if I had stayed a little longer.

I used to live like a block away from there on Wrightwood just west of Clark. It was my first apartment in Chicago after moving from the dorms. My friend had helped me move some stuff and afterwards we walked around looking for something cheap to eat when we saw Wiener's Circle. It was during the day so we were the only people in there. We didn't know it was cash only so my friend couldn't pay but luckily I had some cash so I paid for him. The lady was rude ofc and as we ate in there, she yelled at us "TIP ME BITCH!" and we looked at each other really uncomfortably since we didn't know being rude was the thing there. She kept yelling so I went to put a dollar in the tip jar and then she yelled, "NOT YOU, I WANT THAT BROKE ASS MF TO PAY." We left after we finished eating and were like WTF that was so uncomfortable. We looked it up later and found out about their shtick. I brought out of town friends there a few times at night and once a friend got a cheeseburger with cheese that has a gritty sand texture. That was like 8 years ago, haven't been back since I moved from that apartment, live in Roger's Park now. It's a stupid gimmick, white bros go there to get yelled at by the "kooky" staff. The staff were actually pretty clever or at least never missed the beat; it was the customers I disliked the most. Once I went in there really drunk in a wheelchair I obviously didn't need and the lady yelled "ROLL THIS BITCH INTO THE STREET!"
