Could a pasta based fast food restaurant franchise work, it seems like pasta would make a good fast food.

Sure.

Nope, that's where it breaks down. At that level, nobody wants to make fresh pasta that only takes a couple of minutes to boil, they'll stick you with shitty dry garbage that takes 10-12 minutes to cook. And the margins on the refridgerated shit that only takes a couple of minutes would be way too low to make it worth your while.

Uhh, parcooking dry as morning prep is easily done.
From there, it becomes a quick dunk in the boilolator to rejuvenate, then sauce & toss.

Yes.
The market is already saturated.
Pizza Hut, Fazoli's, Noodles & Co, MACS, and a few others are already there.
All the Pho and Ramen shops are competition, too.

Pasta is fast casual at best; no way to really get down to 3 minute drive thru times and maintain quality people are willing to pay for.

You mean Fazoli's?
Never see anyone at one and they're more expensive than I remember but it takes me back to childhood still.

Pasta Cup uses fresh pasta made in store. It makes sense specifically because of the cooking times.

Jolly Pasta in japan is pretty decent. Portions painfully small though.
