I do generally go for ouzo, not least because my favorite liquor store is near a Mediterranean place so I can make a nice pairing. I think they're immigrants from Cyprus and sweet Jesus those motherfuckers can make some delicious pizza and dolmas. A lot of mint in the latter, which I'm super into.

for me it's anything "spicy". My entire family cannot handle it except me and they would make recipes that normally require some spice but exclude it entirely, like mapo tofu without the spiciness
