I generally agree with this outlook.
Home made almost always beats out most fast food.

I've noticed you don't even need to be a skilled cook or baker to out-do most of the stuff you'd buy pre-packaged at the store.
You can probably make cookies for the second time in your life and, assuming you took care to do it right, they'd outdo anything in the cookie section of a grocery store (the same probably doesn't apply to the bakery section of the store, of course).

I understand people get tired of cooking a lot but it really is better for you and your spirit to prepare homemade meals for yourself and/or a loved one.

You won't make anything as good as a Tim Tam.

The problem is in his assertion. It doesn't matter how much cheaper a loaf of bread and roast beef OR some good cheese is. You're not getting a roast beef and cheese sandwich according to Albini. You're getting bread and roast beef or bread and cheese, no condiments or other toppings.

Am I expected to enjoy this much more than a Big Mac, fries, and a coke? It's just bread and meat (or cheese). Sure, maybe if I was some stoned roadie who had been eating nothing but Big Mac combos, I'd chow down on that "rustic bread and meat nosh" and say it was the best meal of my life.

But I'm not, and Albini doesn't take that into consideration.

>people get tired of cooking

its supposed to be homemade, so sauces and what not is implied to be lying around your house
>coke and fries

He doesn't say to make a sandwich or even to eat it. He just says to buy it.

About $20

This would be the lowest I could go
and enjoy it more than a Big Mac. More than twice as much money, but it's like 6-8 sandwiches.

I'd say the quote is mostly accurate.

A Big Mac meal is about $7.99 and for the sandwich:
>$1.39 fresh bread
>$3.99 roast beef
>$3.49 good cheese
A total of $8.87, but he said "or" so it's obvious that if you pick some good cheese or roast beef, it would be a considerably cheaper sandwich, which you will enjoy much more.

well yeah retard this'll make like 10 sandwiches at least, which is a pretty great deal.

I won't enjoy it much more though

Where? Fucking Commiefornia? A big mac meal is 6.50 leafbucks (5.19 burgerbucks) up here in Canada regular price, and $4 with a coupon.

Wrong. If you get a great loaf of crusty bread, and a high quality cheese or beef, it beats out the preservative filled sugarsaltfat bomb that is a combo meal, every time.
