why is japanese cuisine so hilariously bad?
the main staple dish of nipponland is sushi which is literally just fish on rice
their curry is just watered soup
ramen is just inferior version of authentic Chinese noodles
even instant noodles is taiwanese (Chinese) and not from japan

why could the nips not make a satisfactory cuisine?

Cook quick oats in microwave, when it's done spoon in some yogurt, then pour some cereal on top. Cheap parfait.
I also like one pan breakfast ramen. Fry some bacon in a pan, render out all the fat and pour it into whatever bowl you're gonna eat out of along with the bacon. Break the noodles in half and put them in the pan, cover with like half an inch of water and bring to boil until cooked. You want to use the least amount of water as possible so when you pour the super starchy broth into the bowl you can emulsify it with the bacon fat. Cook an egg in the pan and voila.
Omurice is good, which is just an omelette with rice as the filling. I'll usually mix the rice up with some leftover Taco Bell sauce packets with a little bit of ketchup too.
