no. soapy water requires heat to dissolve fat. the plumbing instantly cools down any water that goes in the drain. the entire length of plumbing is never going to get hot enough from water pouring from your faucet, so the fat will never dissolve. not to mention you also need friction - or do you not use a sponge when washing dishes?
