What's your preferred doneness for burgers? Mine is rare/blue rare.

Pic related. A burger I just ate. Mayo, mustard, ketchup, onion and pickle on the side. It was delicious.

It's beef.

A burger should be somewhere between medium rare and medium, but even cooked through. So, no heavy gradient like you might see on a steak. This is the only answer, everyone else is wrong.

Medium rare, like a normal person. I'm willing to do medium, but anything about that and it's basically ruined.

Unless the meat is freshly, cleanly ground, you have to cook it all the way through. This shit ain't complicated

Who makes a burger of unfreshly uncleanly ground meat anyway? Even the cheapest ground meat I can get in the supermarket is fresh and cleanly ground.

burgers shouldn't be made to a "doneness". they need to be COOKED.

>> No.15870914

Who the fuck actually orders a burger well done? That's so disgusting.

why do we have this thread every hour? there are always the same retards that unironically eat ground beef if it's not cooked through, and then you have the normal people with functioning brains who eat it well done.
the only reason we have degrees of doneness for steak are to preserve texture, that's not the case for ground beef. the only thing you get by not cooking it through is all the surface bacteria that was moved through the beef during the grounding process.

You are paranoid. Some bacteria isn't dangerous, unless the ground beef is contamined by some really bad bacteria, in huge amounts.

You smash the burger and stack the patties. Medium to medium well

The texture of a raw burger is much better. You obviously never had anything but a well done burger to say otherwise.

Medium is perfect for steak. You need something with a bit more resistance for burgers.
