I prefer a baked ziti/mostaccioli better. Greek pastichio with cinnamon meat sauce and fluffy bechamel is still the best of all time baked pasta tho

This stouffers lasagna is better than I've had from fancy schamcy high falooting places in NYC, plus I can make it anytme of the day or night and not deal with italian faggoty.

Best recipe please. I've been craving this food and I want something amazing to make.

>> No.15856191

>>15856162
imo it's more of a technique than a recipe. there's a few rules you should follow, though. lasagne should have noodle, tomato/meat sauce and cheese mixture. 3 distinct layers. the meat sauce is fine left as just beef or you can add pork. in my experience, san marzano tomatos give the sauce the best flavor, but some people call them a meme. the cheese mixture should consist of ricotta cheese, cream cheese, egg and some herbs. you should top the dish with fresh mozzarella cheese and possibly parmesan if you have the real stuff.

it's not a cheap meal, as you can see. but it's godlike. I highly suggest getting a nice bread and make garlic toast to accompany your lasagne. bonus is that it always makes a lot of leftovers. don't skimp on the meat that you buy either, the worst thing you can experience is biting into fucking gristle.

>>15856191
I should specify that I didn't mean only 3 layers, you can repeat the layering as much as your baking dish allows, but yeah.

pastichio is kino. I love the nutmeg or cinnamon or whatever spices they put in there. but I can't say i'd choose it over the noble laganae every time

no. i'd rather have the meat on the side, the texture is just better when it has a bunch of ricotta/parmesan/mozzarella and no meat.

Ah a fellow connoisseur (pic ver related). Trying to find a half decent pic was an eye opener. Why do they not make their pastichio's properly? Underbaked, collapsed overcooked pasta, too dry, too wet. For shame.
