The idea is that you enjoy a cigar after eating. Like a nice dessert.
As someone who smokes once every few months. It is nice to see what recommendations other anons can provide.

I’m interested in pipes - call me silly but was considering picking one up because Tolkien seems to have an insane hard on for smoking pipes. Any recommendations on choosing one and your favorite tobacco?

Not that anon, but it's always good to start off with a corncob pipe. They're cheap, don't need to be seasoned, and beginner-friendly. Look up a guide with pretty pictures on how to pack it right.
The rest is very similar to cigar smoking.

I've met at least two dozen "cigar guys". what did they have in common?
>fat
>ungroomed beard
>soylent interests like fedoras and star wars
guess what? if you're a 300 lb fatty, smoking cigars won't make you look cool to people. it's always fat soys who adopt this hobby because they are desperate to adopt some "cool fat guy" image. there is no such thing.

One of the reasons cogs are addictive is because you can kill 10 min by going outside for a cheeky smoke. With cigars they take a full hour and you actually need to set aside time to do it, so to make it a daily habit is very time consuming. It turns it from "lemmie go get my fix" to "it's the weekend and I have time to kill, why not". Its addicting like booze can be, easy enough to do in moderation

The cigar-smoking demographic is almost exclusively neckbeards, fedora tippers, and baby boomers with goatees. If you want to understand how cringe you people act and look to everyone else, listen to that fag Cigar Dave and his podcast.

Most cigar smokers are well rounded people, I haven’t heard this “podcaster” but I’m sure he’s cringe. However, thinking all cigar smokers are like him is equally cringe.

I bought 5 of these yesterday when I was bit drunk, along with some Balvenie 14, looking forward to it. Haven't smoked a cigar in YEARS, anyone had these before and have opinions? Also bought a pack of 5 Romeo Y Julieta Puritos cigarillos for a quick smoke.

If you mean fat, sure. You cant say thinking all cigar smokers are a certain way is cringe while also saying most cigar smokers are well-rounded. Since we're just doing anecdotal shit, in my experience there are two types of cigar smokers:
1. The person who has the odd cigar during a special occasion and looks at them as a pleasant novelty
2. Faggots who never shut the fuck up about cigars and lean on them as a personality trait.
