Americans literally drive 3 hours a day to go to work or any other place. They live in big cardboard houses far away from civilization like bugs. They literally can not understand simple minimalist lifestyle, they need BIG CONSOOOOMPTION to be happy

I'm all for a simple minimalist lifestyle, I don't like gadgets, dishwashers are a meme, but space is non-negotiable. Cramped areas eat your soul. Even the suburbs are cagey

I used to think this minimalist style seemed comfy, but then I lived in France for a couple years (I know this is Japan) and the kitchen was almost identical to this, except I had to buy a toaster oven (actually it was between the size of a regular oven and a toaster oven). It's not comfy at all; it sucks having no space and minimal options. The best way I can describe it is to say it feels like poverty. I'm not even shitting on France/EU; there are lots of things I like, but this minimalist shit is a fucking headache.

Europeans have this thing where they are the largest people in the world but, like to live in places with 5 ft ceilings everything in Europe in scale is made for dwarves and the toilets are the size of a dixie cup with no flush just a stick. So Europeans constantly feel like a serf I mean if my governement took 95% percent of my paycheck too feed and house muslim terrorist and african rapist in regular sized buildings. I would want to save money too, for the repair of my sons anus after his European state sponsored muslim gang rape.

In France, it's a tradition for landlords to spend less than 100€ on a kitchen. The place I'm currently renting was supposed to have a kitchen, in fact it was the cheapest shitty sink on a cabinet, cost 39€. It was place in the middle of the wall, fucking the whole space in the most retarded way, I couldn't place a dishwasher or a stove. The first thing I did was throwing everything in the garbage and build a new kitchen. The day I'm out, I'll destroy everything and put a 39€ sink on cabinet back. I always remember this episode of kitchen nightmare when Gordon Ramsay tell a cook that the food is disgusting and the cook reply "I know, Gordon, but it's for the clients !". We are the "clients".

Middle class americans pay more taxes than most Euros, but nice try. Many places in cities are small because they were build 600+ years ago. There are plenty of big houses just like in America outside of the cities.

Its true. My ex was from Denmark and we once went there to visit her family (she was on a Student visa) and her parents kitchen looked just like that, although with a separate dining area.

Also why do you all have tea kettles? I can boil water in like two minutes on the stove.

Yeah, it's really weird. The place I lived for a year was in a great location right off a street with a bunch of restaurants in one direction and the old town right in the other, and my neighbors I shared a courtyard with were boomers who were there for life and made their apartment into a home, while I was living in an Ikea nightmare.

Kek. I have a love/hate relationship with the French. It's part of the culture for them to act like they're incredibly cultured and always right in their opinions and taste, but 90% of the time it's all a façade. (Yes, I taught English at a university, but I also taught classes in philosophy and literature.)
