What are some foods/beverages/snacks worth getting from dollar stores?

Watch the Wolfe Pit, he'll give you a few ideas.

I personally think the jamaican patties are pretty good

The first time my group of friends found these we laughed like the dumb teenagers we were.

The candy lane is usually pretty good. Along with slim jims and dried fruit. The frozen section usually has ice cream bars and pizza pockets

They usually have a pretty huge selection of cookies.
Not the best for eating on their own, but fine enough for coffee or tea time.

why do they love the dollar store so much? it's not seriously any cheaper than a normal store for practically anything. walmart or kroger or whatever carries basically the same shit for basically the same price.

Snapps brand frozen jalapeno poppers, cheddar and cream cheese varieties. They make other appetizers too but I'm not a fan of them. The potato sticks are decent if you have some extra cheese and or hot sauce to throw on top.

Candy aisle is usually decent. Theater box candies and funsize bar multipacks; pricing may or may not be better than a discount retailer, depending on if Dollar Tree has the "bonus pack" with 2 extra bars and if the other store is running a sale.
Cracker Jack. I prefer boxed Cracker Jack; DT generally has it; other retailers have largely switched to bagged. Weigh your boxes; don't get stuck with an empty.
If they have Kipper Snacks, they're generally a good deal. They rarely have them; only as a special purchase, not a standard stock item.
Toast 'Em Pop-Up toaster pastries, but only if they have the 8 pastry bonus pack. The 6 pack is OK pricing; you're probably not losing much. (PopTarts are the knockoff; Pop-Ups are the original and are superior. PopTarts charge more to cover their advertising bill.)
Faygo 2.5L is usually a good deal.
Coke/Pepsi 1.25L is usually a good deal.

In general, everything at DT is overpriced by 18%, when compared to an actual discount retailer. If you're going for convenience, fine. If you're trying to save money, you need to be an expert comparison shopper to cherrypick the bargains.
Most things are NOT an apples to apples package size comparison with "regular" stores.

Non-Food: the muffin pans fit your toaster oven (but the paper muffin cups are overpriced); some cleaning supplies are a good deal (scouring powder; scrubby sponges); if your toddler dumps out a whole bottle of shampoo every bath, get some sacrificial $1 bottles to protect Mom's $20 salon brand bottles. If people steal your inkpens, a 10 pack of sacrificial pens. Deodorant sticks, but know your package sizes - a 1.8 oz for $1 is a better deal than a 3 oz for $3.79. Plastic spoons and forks from DT are generally higher quality than from WalMart for similar price, but it's wasteful to get them if you can wash spoons (a drop of dish soap is absurdly cheap, wherever you get it).

The thing is, no other store besides DT around me sells single person size stuff. I don't need a box of trash bags at 50 count. Also, DT has the biggest selection of Haribo gummies and some other items no other store bothers selling.

Do they go bad?
Are there storage constraints?
Is the 8 pack of trash bags appreciably more compact?
Is there ever a time you want to have run out of trash bags or toilet paper?

Spending more for negligible convenience is foolishness. It may seem convenient to walk across the street to get an 8 pack of trash bags every 3 weeks, but I assure you it's less time to get the 50 pack every 5 months.
