Are all IPAs a big meme or are there some that are worth trying?

They're all shit. Malt > hops.

unironically this. I love the bitterness and sweetness of cheap ass malt beer. the 8.5% helps too.
whereas IPA is just extremely bitter

I have a select few ipas thay i go to and regularly enjoy. But modern neipas and nitro brews and 'hazy ipas' i cannot enjoy. The texture is off, some are too sweet, too sour, too fizzy, dryhopped to the point that the flavor is ruined

So you're saying that you like some IPAs more than others? Thanks for the revelation lol
This is why 4chan is the worst place to discuss IPAs. The collective knowledge of brewing techniques, hop and malt varieties and how these things affect the end product is practically nonexistent. They lack the language to describe what they tasting and fall back on meaningless buzzwords. "Hoppy" by itself means absolutely nothing at all.

I used to like Foothills Hoppyum alot because it smelled like weed, but around the 3rd or 4th one I remember it getting to be too much hop and struggling to finish the 6pack.
Now, if I do drink it's wine or pic related.

Change "IPA" to a fill in the blank, and you've got /board.

Malt liquor is THE SHIT.
It is genuinely good beer for the price.
Corona isn't bad beer, Budweiser isn't bad beer, Coors Lite isn't bad beer, even Natty Ice isn't bad beer. But they're overpriced.
IPAs are BAD beer.
Take a cheap macrobrew lager like Olde English, but toss a ton of random hop pellets in during the boil stage at random intervals, then throw some more hops in while they're aging, and BOOM, you have the next big hit IPA.

I laugh when people shit on macrobrewed beers, because it shows that they have no knowledge of brewing.
These beers were made to NOT have flavor, and it isn't easy to create a beer without flavor.

>man this tastes like garbage but lagers are a highly technical and difficult style to brew so the brewer gets a free pass from me!
There is zero skill in brewing macropiss beyond making sure the almost 100% automated production line keeps flowing smoothly. Craft lager/NEIPAs on the other hand are brewed by actual people.
