Places I like to eat in (North) Seattle
Dick's - classic burgers, cash only, not super expensive, good shakes.
Kidd Valley - five guys quality burgers, more variety, garlic fries (popular at mariners games), good shakes
Tubs Gourmet Subs - probably the best subs in the city for a reasonable price. Chicken Caesar one is my fav.
Delfino's - "chicago" style pizza. probably the best kind out of the 4 different places I've had it.
Varlamos Pizzeria - tied with Olympia pizza for my favorite pizza place.
Peco's Pit Bar-B-Que - best bbq in the city
Hawaii BBQ Restaurant - japanese-hawaiin food. It's cheap not the best but I've been going there since middle school. Better than the I think 2 other restaurants in the city with the same style.
Cantoneats - chinese w/e best portions
Ivar's - fish and chips. tourist trap. I think its never lived up to the hype the city gives it but I spent some time in England so I have a better understanding of how much Ivar's doesnt live up to the best.
Taco Del Mar - filling burritos nothing fancy at all. Don't think the menu has ever changed. There are better burrito places but they make you pay for it.
Fremont Bowl - best japanese rice bowls.

Places I'm going to try soonish
Yuan Bao - looks like decent chinese meat buns. I've never really liked any of the ones I've had. There is one place at Pikes Place that is supposed to be real good but fuck going there right now.
Spice Waala - some kind of indian street food. like chicken or lamb with spices and some extras with a naan around it. looks good though

there are a bunch of hipster restaurants so its easy to find niche foods just be prepared to pay more than its worth.

We used to have this great greek restaurant called Costa Opa but they guy running it retired and his kids didnt want to take over so they sold it (to later be turned into a fucking bank). I've seen some place with the same name selling greek but it seems like breakfast focused so I dunno.
Ezell's Chicken (got famous for Oprah liking it) used to be good but at some point the guy sold it to a company that tried (maybe it worked in other places) to make it into a chain and the quality went to shit. I mean better than KFC but I'd rather have korean fried chicken.
Bunch of Teriyaki places but I can't really say which is the best or worst as I always forget whenever I get like the half year craving for some. My local one got sold to new owners who I think are chinese who just butchered it.
Burgermaster (like eat in your car style place but it has other normal stores) has never been something I've liked since they way oversauce the burgers.
13 Coins has always had good food (standard restaurant stuff) and at least it used to be open 24 hours so it was nice going there at 3 am.

there's so much weird disinformation shit in this thread. seattle is not a weird foreign country, it's a large city like any other.

there are 3,300 restaurants in the city and thousands more in the outlying counties. some are good, some are bad, some a fucking fantastic. some are total shit. it varies.

most restaurants stay open until 8-9pm. some later, especially those that have bars or are located in nightlight districts. bars are usually open until 11-2 depending on the day of the week and traffic, in non-rona times. right now they're closing earlier.

the city has a homelessness problem just like all large cities with high rent and mild climates do. it sucks and is generally a big problem in the part of america that doesn't burn or freeze for half the year, but it doesn't affect most restaurants' operation, even the food trucks.

2021 minimum wage is $15.00 if the employee makes at least $1.69 in tips per hour otherwise it is $16.69/hr. the reality is that many places pay more, for their experienced staff, most pay the legal minimum for most of their staff, and some use undocumented workers under the table to fill certain positions. just like restaurants do literally everywhere else in the usa.

the cost of living in seattle is very high just like it is in new york, sf, etc. so the minimum wage is an attempt to keep people housed and fed.
