It's an extremely antisemitic fruit. Culturally insensitive. Boycott avocado.

The only thing that Avocados actually DO, is have lots of nutrients like vit E, iron, copper, potassium.
Sadly, because of the trend people keep making shit up and touting it as fact, like it's some sort of jesus fruit.

Putting it on toast and in coffee was always a dumb fad, but they are just another alternative to the already vast array of healthy fruit out there.

if avocado is a fruit, why is it not sweet.
if avocado is a vegetable, why does it grow in trees?
having said that, Indians from india think is bland and I'm thankful for that. Why? Imagine having to meet the avocado just for Indians alone. Then there are the Ginese who are buying avocado for their middle class. Most of the avocado they get is from Chile, where they call avocado Palta.
So, if we call it guac and we make guacamole, do Chileans call it paltamole?
I don't know, the whole world is going insane for me because I can't afford my avocadoes and habaneros here in Yucatan. I rather buy meat than an avocado because expats from canada, u.s.a and europe settle here in Merida and have rose the prices of these 2 products by %1000 percent. They also like to drink coronas so I'm stuck drinking tecate. I know corona is not that good of a beer for european standards since it's like 4.5% alcohol, so I don't understand why they drink it alot. Gringos, Europeans and North Americans, like to get drunk during these days, eat guac on tacos to calm their munchies. Fucking never ending cycle. Wors than fucking junkies

Avocado on toast isn't just a dumb fad because avocado is basically nature's mayonnaise. The retarded part is paying some hipster restaurant $10 to smear 99 cents of avocado onto two slices of bread.

>> No.15789060

Garden club sandwich starting from the top slice:

Wholegrain wheat bread
Ranch dressing
Alfalfa sprouts
Sliced tomato
Sliced cucumber
One slice of emmental or swiss cheese
One half of a mashed avocado
One thin layer of cream cheese
Wholegrain wheat bread.

I've improved this from 800 calories down to 600 calories by not going overboard on the ranch or cream cheese. The flavor profile is perfect.

A restaurant I used to attend at lunch 20 years ago sold it and it was very popular. They stopped for whatever reason but I kept the recipe alive in my heart after having seen it assembled many times.

Don't make it without the alfalfa sprouts, which are sometimes not guaranteed to be in stock.

I used to shit on "avocado toast" breakfast people but a few months ago my girlfriend brought me a piece of pretzel bread with avocado, salt, and lime spread onto it and it was a really fantastic little thing to eat.

FYI if you grow one from a seed in an avocado you bought at the store it will not produce fruit, ever. All Hass avocados are grafted clones

>> No.15790890

Hass when ripen correctly, is very very smooth and creamy on the thicker side on the palate.

Can also try the Mexican var w/ smooth, shiny skin if you prefer a more refreshing, less dense, less cream-like taste.

Keep it simple, blender, ice, sugar, milk for a basic smoothie.
