Fairly sure the Hot Toddy calls for water, not lemon juice, but lemon is good in it. The Hot Toddy template is uncannily similar to that of the Old Fashioned, just hot and not cold (because the Toddy and the Sling are twins, the Sling being a Hot Toddy done with cold water). You can kind go off the hook with it. Angle to pot-stills, they do their best.

>0.5 oz falernum
>0.25 oz allspice dram
>0.75 oz lemon juice
>4.5 oz hibiscus tea
>2 dashes angostura bitters
That one's nice if a bit unusual. Not what people think of when they think of Hot Toddies, but it cuts through everything.

Yeah, this one is kind of an ode to Brazil, where my parents are from and where I spent part of my childhood before moving here to the US. Absolutely lovely.

I will bring up the deliciousness of drinking some mulled cider, which is what I do most winters when there's a lot of people over - since I can prepare it in bulk by putting it on the lowest heat possible on my stove and just prepare literal gallons of it in one go.

I'm too poor to heat my house like a normal person so I just drink Hot Toddys. I make them like this. I used to always use axe body spray as much as I hate to admit that. It smells strong and masks the smell alright. I use old spice cologne but it's just not enough, body spray and gel deodorant is whats up.

So I really love this hot drink that started out as a toddy but I've mutated it to my own twisted desires to the point its something else entirely. I don't typically make them like this for anyone but myself and my wife but we love them. We like to load up a big thermos full and go snow shoeing but if we're in civilization we always put them in a prewarmed pic related.
