my local sushi joint puts this spicy sauce on every roll. its just fucking shitty, spicy mayo and it is absolute ass and ruins the rolls. when i get take out, i ask for the sauce on the side and throw the ramekins of sauce in their parking lot.

I can do either, as long as the rice is good then it's all about the fillings. IIRC the ones with the seaweed on the inside only exist for picky eaters who thought seaweed was yucky. Sushi's ever increasing popularity and price has pushed me toward kimbap anyway, I can get a bigass roll that's good and filling for $4.
