I want to open a restaurant, and I've heard a good way to catch people's attention is with unique plating. So I'm looking for some inspiration on cool things that could be done for serving.

2. The CDC guidelines don't matter if my state's mandates are in conflict with them, so the CDC guidelines are worthless to me in terms of how I live my daily life.
And, again, because I just don't give a fuck I have never limited the time I spend with anyone in private. I wear a mask in public because the mandate allows the state to fine me $800 and even jail me for up to 60 days, neither of which I could afford to have happen, so I'm basically forced with threats to comply in public where some asshole could report me, but in private I give no fucks.

>As opposed to doing it because it's the right thing to do.
Because it isn't, and it never has been. The use of masks to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses has been studied for decades and the conclusions have ALWAYS been that wearing masks does little to nothing to prevent the spread and the ONLY things that help are keeping distance, washing hands more often, and sterilizing surfaces. Studies have even shown that East Asian countries with historical cultures of mask-wearing don't have lower transmission rates per capita for respiratory illnesses than Western non-mask-wearing countries.

Mask mandates came about because the government was receiving backlash over not handling the pandemic properly so they decided to pass mandates that would be as visible as possible to reduce that backlash about them "not doing anything." It has always been a political move to increase satisfaction with the government and never an actual public health necessity.

Why are you so quick to call me a liar? You don't even post sources to back up such a rebuttal or prove that I'm even wrong, let alone lying. But I'll help you out.

Here's what the CDC has to say about the spread of the flu, a respiratory illness with a long history of proven track record in studies that consistently show actual surgical masks worn out in public do little to nothing to prevent its spread:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/disease/spread.htm
>People with flu can spread it to others up to about 6 feet away.
>Most experts think that flu viruses spread mainly by droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze or talk.
>Less often, a person might get flu by touching a surface or object that has flu virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

Here's what the CDC has to say about the spread of COVID-19, a respiratory illness that is most assuredly stopped significantly from spreading just by wearing a simple cloth mask:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/how-covid-spreads.html
>People who are physically near (within 6 feet) a person with COVID-19 or have direct contact with that person are at greatest risk of infection.
>When people with COVID-19 cough, sneeze, sing, talk, or breathe they produce respiratory droplets.
>Respiratory droplets cause infection when they are inhaled or deposited on mucous membranes, such as those that line the inside of the nose and mouth.
>Respiratory droplets can also land on surfaces and objects. It is possible that a person could get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes.

The pandemic got more people worried about illness and thinking more about their health, so everyone became more likely to get the flu vaccine. Record high numbers of people actually did get vaccinated for the flu, and then we had record low numbers of flu cases and for some reason everyone points to the masks instead of the record vaccination numbers.
And that's not even counting the fact that flu symptoms and covid symptoms overlap enough that misdiagnosis could easily occur and shift the numbers away from one respiratory illness to the other.

I posted studies that show mask-wearing in public has little to no effect on the transmission of the flu.
You posted studies that show mask-wearing reduces the spread of covid significantly.
I said epidemiological studies are bullshit.
You said it doesn't matter anyway because the flu and covid are different diseases.
I said it does matter because the flu and covid have exactly the same vectors of transmission.
You said that's a lie.
I proved that the CDC even says they have the exact same vectors of transmission, which is what makes me question the veracity of the epidemiological studies you're trying to use to support mask wearing since we have so many more studies which overwhelmingly prove that the flu, with the SAME TRANSMISSION VECTORS, is NOT sufficiently stopped by mask-wearing.

If covid has the same transmission vectors as the flu and the flu is not stopped by masks then covid would also not be stopped by masks. Further, the CDC asserts that covid spreads more efficiently than the flu which would mean that masks would be EVEN LESS EFFECTIVE against covid compared to the flu. That's why these sudden new studies which "prove" that covid is stopped by masks are extremely questionable since the flu is proven not to be.

Exactly this. How do people have such short fucking memories? Now what gets posted there is pictures of people NOT wearing masks because that's seen as a such a stupid and conspiracy theorist thing to do. It completely flipped on its head, silently, without anyone ever noticing.

I know several people close to me who spoke out very loudly and actively against people wearing masks and the second it became mandated by the government they started speaking out very loudly and actively against people NOT wearing masks. I've confronted them about this and they pretend they never said people shouldn't wear masks even when I show them screencaps of chats and texts where they said exactly that.

Neck gaiters aren't designed for that purpose any more than balaclavas. Neck gaiters are not respiratory devices or PPE. You know that, right? They serve the same function as a scarf or a balaclava to keep your neck and face warm, and that's all they've ever been designed to do.

The CDC saying that neck gaiters are acceptable protection while balaclavas and scarves are not is inconsistent and likely driven by politics and appearance above all else. I'm of the opinion that masks (especially cloth masks) are and always have been ineffective for preventing the spread of respiratory illness and in the face of social distancing, hand-washing, and sterilization of surfaces they offer nothing of value. The reason the government mandates them is that it's a highly visible policy that lets them say, "See! We're helping you!" and these inconsistent rules support the idea that it's essentially just government-level virtue signalling rather than anything truly helpful or rooted in science.

Canuckfag here.
Nobody here calls dessert "pudding", at all, unless they literally just came over from Britain and have the full English dialect.
"Pudding" refers to one specific kind of sweet dish here, and nothing else. We have instant pudding, pudding cups, and if you're a boomer, you probably remember pudding cans, too. "Pudding" as we know it is always that stuff that has the consistency of wet mud and typically comes in chocolate, vanilla, and tapioca flavors. (though many others, like pistachio, exist)

Tore up some cardboard boxes laying around, was too lazy to dump them on recycling day. I tore the cardboard up in small and regular size plate sizes, end result was pretty damn good. The folding bending technique I used was fold the cardboard upwards on the edges, wasn't hard at all, even got a technique going where I bend it all around the edge and focused greatly on the middle corrugated part, then proceeded to cut generous size pieces of plastic wrap for each plate and plopped it right into the cardboard. This can work VERY VERY well for alternative forms of plating in my experience, the plastic wrap protects the cardboard material coming in contact with actual food. I even went so far making a cardboard soup bowl with plastic wrap that was easier to fold than plates. All it is the carboard acts like a mold and the plastic wrap as the non-reactive food and liquid safe material, if you look at it that way, must easier to visualize.
