This.
Their corporate "secret" is that they don't have freezers in the store. There's no way a lazy manager can cheat the supply chain. No accidental batch of meat that's been thawed and refrozen five times. It forces attention on using fresh ingredients when fresh. It shows.

Motherfucker man....I drive uber on the side for extra money here in LA and you wouldn't believe how many people from around the world are obsessed with this place. And hey it's not bad, the burgers taste alright enough, but it's nothing out of this world and it's not something you can't find a truck stop burger joint. I don't know how many times I've had people get out of my car and take 10,000 selfies and tik tok videos (seriously you have not seen cringe until you've been behind the scenes of a tik tok video) and the sad thing is that a lot of these girls (they're almost always girls) I know don't even eat it, or if they do it's going to be after the photoshoot back at the hotel.

Maybe the food is better but In N Out is a great experience.

Corporate is very intent on selling a good experience, like Chick-Fil-A. Yeah those others places do a good job but In N Out have a magic and yes it is related to the owners being Christians. The owners are high conscientiousness people who believe in excellence in all they do as a religious virtue. They feel a moral obligation to have a clean, well run restaurant that doesn’t focus on making money as their only priority. They also believe in humility and simplicity as virtues. And corporate exercises a ton of control so they make sure the people hired to work in the restaurant are pleasant and attractive and hardworking. They are not sullen employees just doing it for money - they’re people who are willing to get onboard with the owner’s mission.

People don’t just buy tasty food when they go to In N Out and Chick Fil A - they FEEL better. They feel excited and happy. Those restaurants do a great job of creating that atmosphere. The others don’t don’t come close.

So I guess in a way, those restaurants are selling joy, which is why customers are so loyal and the experience is so good.

Also In N Out is way cheaper than those other options

Their corporate secret is:
- high wages to attract good employees who are happy to be at work
- simple menu means faster ordering faster fulfillment and continual focus on maintaining high standards

Fresh beef helps but Wendy’s uses that too.

>> No.15754995

>>15754947
I think more likely than not it's just that they pay pretty well from what I've heard, so the wagies actually care about their jobs somewhat. Although there probably is stricter vetting in their hiring process too, they certainly don't seem to hire the same retards who end up at Mcdonalds or BK.

>> No.15755032

>>15754995
Yeah exactly. The high wages are kind of vetting too. In AZ they start at $14 an hour. So yeah when you pay for better employees you get people who are better at their job and put more effort in.

In N Out uses high wages to increase the quality of the experience and product they are selling, like paying for better beef for the burgers or something. BK and McD’s generally views labor costs as something to be minimized to maximize profits, which is why they hire retards at a lot of places and why the experience is bad.

They're steadily expanding eastward.
They manage their supply chain without freezers, so they can't just plunk down one anywhere and rely on third party transportation. They'll need to build another central depot. IIRC correctly, they're operating their current network entirely out of SoCal still.

>> No.15756110

They don’t use external finance at all. No loans. They own the land on all their locations and pay for construction and startup out of pocket. They’re very methodical and careful about selecting locations for new restaurants. I live in Seattle and travel a lot for work and it honestly isn't any worse than any other major city. If you're not a city person that's fine but people have this retarded irrational hate for Seattle like there's homeless trans prostitutes using horse dildos on every corner. This thread had me curious, so I decided to try some fine burgers at In-N-Out Burger - Quality You Can Taste.

Well I must say my fellow Food & Cooking "anons", it was the best burger in my entire life!

I wanted to take a Cheeseburger as it seemed both very tasty and affordable , but then something caught my eye : an item on the menu was simply named "The Double-Double" ? Now that's something I haven't seen at other Fast-Food chains!

Feeling adventurous, I asked the very professional and competent worker for a Double-Double Combo, and let me tell you , O-M-G hashtag Best Burger Ever, L.O.L. !

I will certainly return to In-N-Out Burger - Quality You Can Taste! I heard on the internet that there even was a Secret Menu !!! But don't tell anybody, ok? XD .

In-N-Out is very good for fast food, but their burgers are wet slop unless you order them in the patrician's fashion, like so:
>2x1
why is their cheese so fucking thick? Two patties is ideal but two slices of cheese is way too much.
>no lettuce or tomato
adds moisture to an already wet burger, neither are of particularly good quality.
>onion
grilled or raw is good, however their raw onion tends to be cut rather thick but it adds needed texture and piquancy without slopping it up. Ordering a burger in this configuration with grilled onions tastes more like a patty melt, pleasantly rich and a bit more texturally homogenous.
