What's the most you ever spent on a bottle of wine?
For me it was $95 on a 2012 Chateau De Beaucastel. Honestly I had $20 bottles that were better

The 2012 Beaucastel is a fantastic wine. I just drank it the other day. What $20 wine did you think was better? And please don't say it was something from South America.

I have certainly had wines around $40 that I thought were as good or better though.

I've tasted a bottle of Bjorn cabernet. which at the time I was selling for about $100. It was rather tasty. My store was also doing a tasting on some Beringer stuffs, and the lady had one in the bag. It was limited release (back in 07'-08) retailed for $100. Tasted like my balls.

I've spent $6-700 on wine in the past for special occasions. Mostly French reds, but a special vintage will occasionally come out of Napa that I buy for some godforsaken reason.

They're not really worth it though, in my opinion, $40-70 is the sweet spot for good wine.

Pic related was a gift that I had to get special ordered, don’t sell it on the east coast and it’s my dads favorite. Ended up at round 70$. Pretty good, but of course it was more about the company than the wine.

I once had a glass on Dom Perignon. Luckily I didn’t have to pay for it because my older cousin is loaded and he bought it. It was really good but not good enough to justify buying a bottle of my own any time soon. I think it was also a palette thing because I don’t drink wine very often, but I drink a lot of beer, and I’m a lot better at being able to tell the subtle differences between beers.

Wines that I enjoyed the most have usually been in the € 20-30 range. Ch. Lilian ladouys (saint-estephe), ch. Potensac (medoc), chablis premier cru by marronniers, pernand-vergelesses by d'ardhuy
