Why does this literally stop being spicy after eating it twice?

I really really love the flavor of this stuff. It's so sweet and savory, though I don't know enough about asian food to be able to describe what exactly the flavor is supposed to be. I guess it's related to fish sauce and sweet chilis, but it also has a chemical sort of flavor that is shared by foods like freezer pizza and Kraft mac and cheese. It's absolutely a king of its class, though, if not the best.

I really feel bad for anyone who gets filtered by the heat level and can't taste the flavor underneath. I don't taste the heat anymore since I've eaten it more than 2x, but it still makes my stomach and intestines hurt every time I eat it.
