/ck/, do you rinse your ground beef after you brown it? I've heard it's actually a good way to reduce the fat content. Why shouldn't I do this if I'm trying to lose weight?

A good way of reducing fat contents is fucking buying lean meat.
Don't buy 30% fat beef and then wash it all off.

Add some soap and the fat will reduce even more!

I just boil my ground beef and drain the water. No need to rinse.

It probably came from the past when people would cook and save the fat/grease for later. Most oils won't harden and of sinks when cold water hits them, but most stored animal fat will, sort of like coconut oil.
And then once it's hardened in your cold pipes youre stuck without a plumber unless you have other solutions.

don't rinse it too long, or it will turn into brown rice
