ok, thanks. OP should just buy an electric top like in developed countries. I can't believe people still cook on open flames inside. It's so crude

What's a gas range?

>> No.15671795

The key to getting over any anxiety is acclimation. Turn the gas on. Listen to it hissing out. It can’t hurt you. Get used to the sound. Let it go for like 40 minutes to an hour. Read a book, play a game or something. Let it just become a normal background thing for you. Then and only then, you can light it up

A gas range is better for consistency and heat output than an electric range, but to each his own. Personally I use a gas range because I have a few cast iron pans that would explode on an electric range

Do americans really? I use my cast iron pan on my electric stove top every single day. It haven't even exploded once

based. I only let my caretaker make things with the electric kettle, or using a smooth edge can opener.

>> No.15672221

Really old cast iron can crack under the aggressive heating of electric burners. They don't explode though.

>heat output
It often isn't. Modern household electric stoves can pump out way more heat than a typical gas stove lets you go.
