Can I buy O'Doul's even though I'm 18? Does it taste like Hieneken?

>> No.15670830

Why would you want to? Are you trying to get a girl "drunk" off the placebo effect without actually getting her drunk, thus freeing up her inhibitions without making you into a date rapist?

I can't imagine why not... the laws here might not apply to you, so I can't give you an accurate answer. It's in brown bottles, so it shouldn't skunk like Heineken does. Heineken does make a non-alcoholic beer, and it's not horrible - just a little thin.
>>15670830
It sounds like you've given some interesting reports to the police in your life.

Nah, I snuck some Heineken from one of my sister's house partys and really liked it. I've wanted to try it again, but i've never liked the idea of getting drunk. So I haven't. I found out the other day that non alcoholic beer existed so I reasoned a quick discussion hear was in order. Also girls are weird, why would I want to have sex with one?

Heineken makes their own near-beer, so you should just get that. It tastes the same as regular Heineken (skunked and bad). Also, please stop being gay. It makes your dad sad.

They make non alcoholic Heineken beer that tastes pretty much the same as the real thing. I think you still have to be 21 to buy non alcoholic beer but I could be wrong.

>> No.15670919

Most light lagers in green or clear bottles will have that skunked flavour, unless they've been carefully kept away from light and heat - which really doesn't happen with import beers. A large amount of companies are making non-alcoholic beer to cash in on the current teetotaling trend.

Most places will card you as they don't want to encourage "drinking culture." Legally you can, but the retailer probably won't sell it.

I drink beer, wine, mead and cocktails that aren't just a double of alcohol A with good-on-its-own mix B because I like the flavour. Unless the intention is go out to get drunk, I'm good with 2 or 3 drinks over the course of any given evening where I'm drinking. That's not enough to get or maintain a buzz unless I drink all three with great prejudice.

I'm a tall, reasonably lean 240lbs, with a genetic predisposition to alcohol tolerance and abuse... so I'm kind of afraid to drink heavily (or) too often. Two drinks back to back won't slow me down, and a 26er won't knock me down. Yay mutt genetics.

In Michigan they wouldn't sell it to us in high school (age 16/17) but if we crossed over to Wisconsin they would just laugh and ring us up.

Run along, little zoomer; the adults are drinking.

Are you a burger?
Then yes, but probably no.

In most states it’s technically legal for you to buy it under 21.
However, most stores treat it like beer in their checkout systems; it will prompt the cashier to ID you and it will reject an under-21 birthday, and complaining will usually end with you being told it’s simply store policy.

Your best bet is to go to a shitty gas station owned/run by an Arab who won’t give a fuck regardless.

>> No.15673739

>>15673716
What's the profile of an Arab-owned place that'll sell you liquor? I have a friend who knows a friend with a fake ID, so I don't need this kind of place anymore, but just in case.

>> No.15673741

>>15673716
^That... kinda. We well a lot of non alcoholic beers in grocery stores here. They don't card because they don't carry drinkable alcohol. Our liquor stores card for all purchases, regardless of alcohol content.

Why do people who aren't recovering alcoholics drink this?

>> No.15673778

>>15673739
From experience that’s totally not mine because I’ve never broken the law, but I heard from a friend:
>no-name gas station is the best, as Texaco, Exxon, etc. are quick to pull franchising from a store that would do that
>something in a shitty area of a major city is best, as local cops have a lot more important shit to do than trying to sting some Muhammad-store in the hood for underage sales
>actually being a gas station isn't required; Arab convenience marts in urban areas work just as well

Also check your state laws; in a lot of states, it’s actually illegal to purchase (or even try to purchase) alcohol if you’re under 21 (and you can get fucked if you’re over 18). The owner might feel like being a dick.
But in other states, the actual purchase isn’t illegal, and the worst the guy can do is just tell you to fuck off.

My only reason is that everyone around me will be drinking metric ball-tons of beer, and I either don't want to, or I'd rather be able to leave when I want. With some near beers, I can crush a 12 pack get into a car, and not worry about Johnny Q Law and his half-tuned breathalyser.

>> No.15674359

>>15673766
Well some countries have good reason.
N/A beer is popular as fuck in Japan, because they have no “legal limit” in terms of driving; if you’re involved in any sort of accident or stopped for whatever reason, and have *any* alcohol in your system, you are royally and properly fucked.
Basically nobody there would even sniff a beer if they might be driving at any point soon. Like seriously, having a single beer at a place you’ll be driving home from is unthinkable.
So someone in Japan who is in that situation and wants a beer (maybe they’re having some fried/grilled food that beer goes great with), they’ll go with N/A.

>> No.15674440

It's really very similar to that all over the developed world EXCEPT the USA. In non-commie-block Euroland, having a drink and driving isn't considered acceptable. Let alone the 3 or 4 I will (allegedly) have before driving home.

>> No.15674451

>>15674440
Anyone who can't handle having a couple of beers and being able to drive shouldn't be driving in the first place.

>> No.15674460

I'm not disagreeing with you, but the penalties in the rest of the world are a lot more severe than in the USA. If you drink 2 or 3 times a week it's cheaper to get a (first offense)DUI than to get a cab in the US over the course of a year.(assuming a $15 fare each way.)

I learnt how low the limits were in leaf land. Was over at a family event and had 5 tall boys over the course of around 6-7 hours and I still blew a 0.087. I have now realised that I have driven at least 2-3x over the legal limit and have never gotten in an accident over the 12 years of driving. Shit was expensive too, still no criminal charge though.
>>15674473
Trust me bud I know the difference and I will proceed to disregard them.

>and I will proceed to disregard them.
Well sure, so do I, as I live in Burgertopia where it takes multiple DUI’s to give you serious trouble.
But I normally live/work in Osaka when chinkflu isn’t happening, and I wouldn’t drive after one beer there any more than I’d wave a gun at a cop here.
